团队项目

EV Kartz team provides an exciting and engaging motorsports platform for students to learn first-hand how to engineer electric vehicle technology.

我们的第一个项目
  • A single motor kart taking a Top Kart chassis kit and modifying
  • In the process of assembling our single motor go-kart, which is outfitted with our custom built, 96V, battery pack and is propelled by a 30-kilowatt, 三相电动机
  • Focusing on getting this kart ready to race in the EV Grand Prix in Indianapolis.
未来的比赛
  • Modify go-kart chassis with a split axle and mounts for two 7-kilowatt motors
  • Each motor will drive its own independent rear axle and will be controlled by a New Eagle VCU, which runs on Simulink-based Raptor Control Software

团队学到了什么

  • Mechanical conversion of single motor drivetrain to dual motor configuration
  • Application of 3-phase motor control classroom education on a vehicle
  • Electric vehicle wiring (low voltage, data/communications, and high voltage applications)
  • Integration of CANbus vehicle communication network
  • Power electronics design, manufacturing and programming
  • Permanenet Magnet AC Synchronous Motor (PMAC) design and manufacturing
  • Integration and calibration of motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope) and driver feedback sensors (steering, throttle/brake potentiometers)
  • Design and integration of electric motor Torque Vectoring and Traction Control systems
  • Racing team management
